Help someone else

Meth has had a devastating effect on many New Zealand families. The important thing to remember is that you are not alone – there is help and support available to you.

Concerned about a loved one?

We understand how painful it is watching someone you love self-destruct using drugs. A lot of stress can be put on a family or relationship when there seems like there is nothing you can do about your loved ones drug use. There is a light at the end of the tunnel because you can get help to support you and your family during a challenging time.

"Then I noticed things like lack of work, or failure to have constant work and that sort of stuff as well.  Then eventually I realised a lot of things were lies as well." Anna

Chaos

In the United Kingdom the term 'concerned and affected others' is used for people whose loved ones are drug users. The acronym for this – CAOS – is a good description of what it is like living with a using addict. The frustration of their unwillingness to change, the constant anxiety and fear of what they are going to do next. You are not alone in what you are going through.

"I said 'Prue, I think you’re taking drugs'. 'No, absolutely not. No, no, no.' The more I tried to say to her 'I’m really worried. I think you were doing this', she’d just lie, lie, lie." Penny
